Memorial

As we get ready for new beginnings, we reflect on our personal losses in 2005 of Eugene Glass School founding Board President (1999-2004), George Kjaer, and Board President (2005), Renee Wyser-Pratte.

With the tragic death of our Board President, Renee Wyser-Pratte, on July 31, 2005, we continue to mourn the loss of our friend and passionate driving force. Renee instilled this passion in all of us over the past 3 years of her involvement with EGS. We look forward to continuing Renee’s dream of being involved with the mission of the Eugene Glass School and her desire to bring that experience to the community.

We have also suffered the loss of our founding Board President, George Kjaer, who passed away on November 26th. With the strength we channel from George’s spirit to endure, we stay strong and look forward to the future. Without George Kjaer, the Eugene Glass School would not be what it is today. With George’s guidance in creating the base and structure of the school, EGS has become a reality many of us only dreamed of. His unwavering dedication to EGS kept us motivated for the future, including most of our upcoming projects. George was and will always be an inspiration to all volunteers, staff and board.
