FUSED GLASS JEWELRY
Cat Shelby $75 + $15 material fee (non-refundable)
October 8, Saturday (10am-4pm)
In this one day class, even beginners will take home many pieces of fused glass that may be used in jewelry. Get a start on holiday gifts by creating cabochons that can be used in pendants, earrings or bracelets. Both tack fusing and full fusing will be covered. Different construction options will be available to create a variety of looks in finished pieces. While there may be a small amount of dichroic glass used, this is primarily a class to learn the techniques used in working with small bits of glass in creating unique jewelry. Each student will have the opportunity to explore a variety of methods used in creating fused glass jewelry. For some of the projects, students will be given pre-cut glass building blocks to work with and in others, simple cutting methods will be employed, so that someone new to glass will have great success at the end of the day. Safety, firing schedules and limited cold working will be covered in this class. Additional materials will be available for purchase from the instructor.
Want to finish those pieces the next day? Sign up for the wire-wrapping class and learn the secrets of putting that extra zing and polish on your glass jewelry. Beginner level.
