Cat Shelby $75 + $15 material fee (non-refundable)
April 16, Saturday (10am-4pm)
Add that extra sparkle to your glass projects with dichroic glass! In this one-day class, students will explore design elements utilizing some of the unique properties of dichroic glass. Various methods of etching, inclusions, stacking and surface treatments will be covered. Organic materials for bas relief will be available. Both fully fused and tack fused cabochons will be created in class and each student will have ample time to try some of each. This class will stress design and planning pieces. Earrings, pendants and cabochons for bracelets will be possibilities, so students may decide to create matching or coordinating sets. Cold working will be discussed as it applies to finishing fired jewelry pieces. Firing schedules and studio safety will also be covered.
Students should have some experience in cutting glass to fully enjoy this class. Some materials will be provided through a material fee with extra material available for purchase from the instructor.
Then, sign up for the next day and learn the tricks of wire wrapping the cabochons you created.
