Marcel Braun

After lampworking for the first time in 1996 Marcel set out to educate himself, taking classes with a wide range of professional glass artists. Training and workshops in offhand and lampwork from master glassworkers as well as a myriad of less formal artistic encounters have contributed to his style; which has become a bass note in the emerging symphony of borosilicate. Currently based in Alsea Oregon, Marcel is working on a series of very large borosilicate sculptures. Almost four feet tall and weighing nearly 50 pounds there is little doubt that these pieces are pushing the limits of scale for borosilicate. His work is in the corporate collections of Northstar Glassworks, Carlisle Machine, Coatings by Sandberg, and Glass Alchemy.
