Joseph L. Schoenberger

Joes artistic background began as a youth playing around with heating and shaping glass in his basement. As a young teen he took up his grandfathers trade and began making woodcarvings, which he continues to incorporate in some of his glass pieces today. It was Joes training in welding after high school, where he learned heat transfer, flame adjustment and other skills needed to begin using the torch as a tool to create works of art in glass. In the last six years, Joe has studied under such masters as Karl Ittig, Roger Parramore, and Milton Townsend, and currently works as a full-time lamp worker. Joe specializes in goblets and various types of vessels, many of which contain his trademark amphibian or reptilian sculptures.
