Hans was born in Werheim, Germany in 1967, he is the 7th generation in his family to be involved in glass art. By 1994, Hans began teaching in Europe, Canada, and the United States, including a teaching assistant (1994) for Dick Marquis and co-teacher with his father Karl Ittg (1998) at Pilchuck, the International Neon Installations in Canada, and the University of Nurnburg. Hans' skills led him to a position with the famous Kurt Wallstab in Germany, Bent Edenfalk in Sweden, and Jean-Paul Raymond in France. Hans continues to teach and serve as a consultant in the United States and abroad.
