David Popowitz is a self-taught artist who has spent his entire young life practicing and
expressing himself through any medium he could get his hands on. His intense study, as well as
his passion for music, has merged into his artwork, which reflects a flowing harmony, precision of
execution, and a limitless imagination. For many years, he has focused on creating artwork with
melodious combinations of light, color, line, form and arrangement. At the age of 17, after years
of working and performing in the arts in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, David was nominated
by McAllister College as one of Minnesota�s top 100 artists. He then relocated to Eugene, Oregon,
in 1996, where he currently works and lives with his wife and newly born daughter. David has
studied beneath Karl Ittig, 6th generation glass master, assisting and co-teaching classes with
Karl in and around the Pacific Northwest. David also currently works with the Eugene Glass
School, teaching classes and assisting with flameworking operations. His work is currently on
display at the Eugene Glass School gallery.
