The "father of fuming" - Bob Snodgrass was given his first lampworking lessons in Akron, Ohio, in 1971, working with borosilicate glass before commercial color was available. He became an originator of color and style in borosilicate lampworking, inventing a technique of using precious metals to color glass. In 1982, Bob took his studio to the public, working glass at festivals and craft fairs in Ohio and Pennslyvania. Bob is a health and safety trained member of the American Scientific Glassblowers Society, and an associate of both the Oregon Glass Guild and the Eugene Glass School. His motto: "Safety begins with me!" Currently Bob is building a portable studio, integrating state-of-the-art electronics, solar power, and technology for web broadcasting.
